GETTING STARTED

From a need
to a considered choice.

A practical guide to the current individual pilot.

1. Open a workspace

Try the fictional demo without an account, or register with a name, email, password, and agreement to the Terms. A registered workspace starts empty and saves on the server. Email ownership is not yet verified at signup.

Demo edits stay in this browser’s local storage. Use fictional information on shared devices. Privacy choices can clear local demo data.

2. Define the purpose

Choose New evaluation. Enter a title for the tool or use case, purpose, category, review date, and optional owner label. Start in Draft or In review. Keep the recommendation and limitations beside the original need. Up to 200 evaluations per account.

Owner labels are descriptive and do not invite, notify, or grant access to another person.

3. Weigh the criteria

Choose New criterion and link it to an evaluation. Enter a title, category (Fit, Cost, Implementation), and evidence note. Owner label and HTTP/HTTPS evidence URL are optional. Credential-bearing URLs are rejected; links are not fetched.

Weights are whole numbers 1–5. Scores are whole numbers 1–5; zero means unscored. Up to 2,000 criteria per account. A score must reflect your own review and consistent interpretation.

The weighted score is sum(weight × score) / sum(weight), shown to one decimal only when every criterion is scored. Weights 3 and 2 with scores 4 and 3 produce 3.6 / 5. The result is an arithmetic summary of your inputs, not an independently verified vendor rating.

4. Record a decision

Decided requires recommendation and limitations notes of at least 30 characters each, at least one criterion, and all criteria scored. It does not mean a purchase is approved or executed.

Adding, changing, moving, or removing a criterion reopens affected Decided evaluations as In review. A move can affect both old and new evaluations. Revisit the assumptions and notes before recording Decided again.

5. Export and remove

Brief TXT includes purpose, recommendation, limitations, weighted score, and criteria with weights, scores, notes, and URLs. Evaluations CSV, Criteria CSV, and Workspace JSON export all records regardless of filters. JSON includes the latest 100 activity events.

CSV formula-leading entries are escaped. Review files before sharing. An export does not archive external documents. Deleting an evaluation deletes its criteria; activity may retain short titles. Account deletion removes active related data. Export first if needed.

6. Account and support

Passwords must be 12–72 bytes; some characters use multiple bytes. Reset links expire after 30 minutes and work once. A successful reset invalidates old authenticated sessions.

Do not store credentials, sensitive regulated data, unnecessary personal information, or unauthorized documents. Contact jon@six68technologies.com. No support response-time commitment is made for the pilot.

PRIVACY CHOICES

Only what the workspace needs.

No advertising trackers or third-party analytics are included. Accounts use an essential session cookie; demo edits stay in your browser.

Clear demo data to remove local examples and edits. Export anything you need first.
