Define what fit means.
Start with the work before you compare the tools.
Begin with the problem
A software evaluation becomes more useful when it starts with a concrete need. Describe the work, the people involved, and the conditions a tool needs to satisfy. A long feature list is less helpful when nobody has agreed which outcomes matter.
Choose understandable criteria
Write criteria another reader can assess. Workflow fit, implementation effort, and cost predictability are starting points, not a universal framework. Adjust the criteria to your own context and record the reason for each score.
Keep gaps visible
An unscored criterion is an open question, not a low rating. Six68 Evaluate shows the weighted score as pending until every criterion has a score from one to five. This helps distinguish incomplete research from a considered judgment.
Return to the purpose
Before recording a decision, check that the criteria still reflect the original need. A numeric result can summarize your inputs; it cannot establish that the selected tool is appropriate.
